Vintage Cut Velvet Fabric Collection

I have been collecting cut velvet fabrics for a number of years now. As I am quite taken with them, you probably have seen me gushing about them here, here, and here  or using them in projects here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.  whew...you get the idea.    (and no, I don't really expect you to visit all the linked posts, it was just to make a point)

Anyway, I have come to the realization that I have to start letting some of them go.  I did sell a few pieces on Etsy earlier this year, but I recently came across 2 more beauties, and it is just way more fabric than I can ever use myself.  One of this summer's finds was a vintage velvet bedspread. Gorgeous and unused, with the original paper label. There were a few storage stains in one corner, which allowed me to cut it up for projects without feeling too guilty.

And the other recent acquisition was several yards of an upholstery fabric in a pretty dusty blue cut velvet with a damask pattern.

So, I have reluctantly started to list many of my selfishly hoarded treasured cut velvets on Etsy.  Of course, a sizable amount will still remain mine...all mine.  lol
And the rest of this post will just be pretty photos of them because I just can't get enough.  :)

Have a great week, everyone!

Latest Vintage Fabric Finds from Indiana

Mom and I took a little trip to Indiana this past weekend.  We stayed at the lodge in Brown County State Park and ate lots of good food and did a tasting at the local winery. We also shopped the nearby antique malls and I managed to find some pretty fabrics!

In the pink floral category we have a trio of valance panels with pretty bouquets in pinks and aqua, a light weigh cotton lawn with salmon-y pink rugosa roses (or maybe cherry blossoms?), and 3 yards of a small scale print of tiny roses and gray daisies.

I also found a few red fabrics.  A cute kitchen print, a nautical themed novelty print, and several yards of a diamond geometric in red white and blue.

And last, I found a fun set of napkins with a Scandinavian type design.  I have no idea what I'll do with them, but they were just so bright and cheery I had to bring them home.  :)
I'll be getting some of the fabrics on the website today (the ones I can part with, anyway).
Its waaayyy too hot here in Ohio this week to do any work outside, so I think I'll probably start on a slipcover project I've been putting off.
Stay cool, everyone and have a great week!
